About
Copenhagen, Denmark (1998 – 2008)

Lack was a quartet based in Copenhagen, Denmark. They joined the Play/Rec family in early 2005 with the release of their second full-length effort, the dark, hard hitting, post-hardcore aesthetic, ´Be There Pulse´. Lack was an experienced lot, boasting more than 250 live shows and three 7" vinyls along with their debut album, ´Blues Moderne: Danois explosifs´ from 2001, a vanguard in confrontational, rugged hardcore. In the year following the release of their debut album, Lack did one US and three European tours, amounting to approximately 100 shows. The agony of too many months spent together on the road eventually lead to a break-up in 2002. However, the band luckily reformed some six months later and set out on a quest to rekindle the energy, ambition and creativity they had lost along the way. ´Be There Pulse´ - the first batch of songs released on Play/Rec since the band´s contribution to the label´s pilot project ´Play/Rec 01´ from 2000 - bears testimony to the unequivocal success of Lack´s revitalization. The third chapter in the story of one of Denmark´s hardest working rock bands showed with all clarity that their desire for experiments and challenges was fully intact. Saturate Every Atom has a rocked up, melodic, yet aggressive approach to the band´s fundamental identity.

Last Statement from the band:
Full of juvenile enthusiasm Lack started somewhat 10 years ago and has now come to an end. This band has always been driven by motivation, passion and love for what we are doing. This band has always, as stated many times, been about challenging ourselves and moving in new directions. As of lately we must recognize that motivation is coming short, that inspiration has been drying out and that tours seem to take us down all too familiar roads. We simply recognize the fact that it is now time for the four of us to part ways, move on and let Lack be, leaving behind 3 albums, numerous shows and tons of memories and invaluable friendships made along the road. We are extremely proud of all our outcome with this musical collaboration and extremely grateful for everything we ever achieved or got to experience. This band, the experiences that followed and the friendships made, certainly shaped our lives and had a huge impact on what kind of people we are today, and we would never be without it. We are confident that now is the right time to leave this behind us, and do so without regrets or sorrow. Instead we are all very much looking forward to pursue other projects and are eager to find out what the future holds for each and everyone of us. Thanks for reading and thanks for everything!

Sincerely
Thomas, Kasper, Jacob and Jakob
